Virat Kohli granted Vice-Captainship for the Asia Cup 2012

Virat Kohli who has been playing well since last year has been finally appointed as Vice Captain of team India for the Asia Cup 2012. He played during Australia tour as well making more than 350 runs in the Tri-series. MS Dhoni  will be captaining team India as usual while few main players have been rested for the tour. Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag have been rested and they won’t play in Asia Cup. Team is almost same as the one in Australia wtih Yusuf Pathan and Ashok Dinda included in the team while Umesh Yadav and Parthiv Patel go out.

Asia Cup starts on 11th March 2012 in Bangladesh where four Asian teams are playing. The teams are India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. There will be six league matches and then the final would be played on 22nd March at Mirpur. Virat Kohli is considered as a future captain of team India due to the way he plays and smartness he has. May be if Dhoni resigns before the World Cup 2015 as he stated earlier, Virat might do captain-ship if he keeps doing well in the matches. Once Asia Cup ends, IPL will being the cricket fever once again in April. And its highly expected that Sachin Tendulkar might hit his 100th century during Asia Cup.
